My experience & qualifications

Japanese

I enjoy talking to people from different cultures to learn more about their home country and I am more than happy to share my experiences about Japan.

In 2003 I took a Japanese Teachers' Training Course validated by the University of Cambridge Local Examinations Syndicate. Since then I have taught Japanese to people from all around the world, from England to Brazil.  One of my students enjoyed it so much she went on to study Japanese at School of Oriental & African Studies (SOAS), University of London.

In 2003 I was awarded PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate in Education) by Institute of Education University of London. I also attained a Master of Arts degree in Teaching in the Post Compulsory Sector in 2008 at the same institution.

One meets potential students of Japanese in all sorts of places. I was dining in a Japanese restaurant in central London with a friend. There was a young couple at the next table. They were Italian. We started chatting in English. The young man was looking for Japanese tuition. As he discovered I taught Japanese, he agreed to take lessons with me. They happened to live a five minute walk from where I live in north London!
